Mrs. McAfee

Bethany McAfee has been in the educational field since 2006. Her first five years were spent instructing college students at Vanguard University of Southern California as well as at Radford University in Virginia. In 2011, she switched to teaching high schoolers and has taught English grades 9-12 including Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement, and Yearbook. At STHS, she currently teaches English 3 Honors and A.P. English Language and Composition. Mrs. McAfee also leads numerous clubs at Sheridan including Spoken Word Poetry, Fairness and Belonging “FAB” club, and other clubs connected with her role as a BCPS Equity and Prevention Liaison.  

Her teaching awards include winning the “Giving Joy Campaign” by Norwegian Cruise Line in 2019, 2021, and 2022. Additionally in Virginia she was named “Super Teacher” in 2013 and “Grand Champion of Super Teachers” by the Virginia Lottery in 2014.

Mrs. McAfee joined the Sheridan family in 2018 when she moved to Florida, and we are so happy to have her part of our Wolf Pack! Go Wolves!
